I think I will look into this after the holidays because so many people are requesting it.
Yes, doing it for people is an entirely different license/registration/rules & regulations. There are many things I am required to do for dog treats that aren't required for people and vice versa. But it can be done. I bake in a commercial kitchen and that's the #1 concern for people cookies, so I'm ahead there.
Have you seen the Purina research study on coconut oil (medium chain fatty acid) and how it is much better tolerated than other (long chain) oils in pancreas and liver dysfunction? I will send it to you. Lambchop had a history of pancreatitis (and everything else under the sun practically) and did not tolerated any oil but coconut oil. And it's good for people too!

Dr V I (cough) know I have eaten more biscuits than Sophie. My bad.

Annette - I have gluten free friends. Seriously, can you just package these for humans, or do you have to do other types of licensing? I love no sugar, no scary preservatives/partially hydrogenated icky stuff, and yummygoodness.

I love it when dogs have to compete with their people for our biscuits!

Yes, my friend's daughter is gluten free and she gave her my treats because they are even sugar free so no kid jumping off the walls after eating lots of cookies. : )

I really have had a lot of requests from people to make cookies for "humans". I might have to consider that, after the holidays. In the meantime, if I can find an hour to bake for the humans, there may be some great gluten free cookies coming a few people's way! I have some ideas. : )

I have now ventured into the 'lambchop' shape (also veggie) and love them. Oh. My. Goodness. Even had some chai with biscuits today. Another DrV-inspired idea. MMM These really are people snacks...

I think I remember Annette saying she had a person who ordered them as a gluten free cookie for her gluten-intolerant child. Cool idea.

My dog Sophie loves them, too! MMM

Inspired (is that the right word?) by DrV, I tried the Lambybiscuit "Starlets" - and I have to say, they are pretty good. I think they should be labeled as people snacks that dogs can eat. ;-)

What a cute video clip of Brody!!! My mastiff crew are always UP for Biscuits by Lambchop cookies! I have tried them myself too and agree wholeheartedly that they could be sold in a supermarket cookie aisle stamped for "humans" and it would be snapped up in an instant!!! Hmm... wondering if there is a precedence for selling an item in BOTH categories simultaneously with packaging that says for both????? A shareable treat that is good for BOTH of us... humans and our dog crew alike!!!

I ordered a bag for Clyde after the blog-a-thon, and he loves them! As a matter of fact, he was a barking fool out in the back yard this morning (another dog was on the other side of the fence), and I used the Biscuits by Lambchop to entice him back into the house. That means a big two paws up from him!
