Giveaway! Sirius Republic Collars!

It’s about time for a giveaway, don’t you think? And I’m so excited to have this one for you all. It’s the start of autumn, so what better way to usher it in than freshening up your pet’s fall collar couture?

Sirius Republic is an e-tailer specializing in handmade collars and leashes. They have a wide selection of buckle and Martingale collars, which are fast becoming one of my favorite types of collar for our resident wild man.

Martingale collars, if you are unfamiliar with them, tighten up when pulled but are looser at rest, providing an extra measure of security for the type of dog who easily pulls out of a standard collar in moments of zeal or other types of enthusiasm.

Owner Jennifer Zhang makes all the collars and leashes by hand. When she offered a sample to review, I told her I wanted to try a quick-release Martingale but I wasn’t sure which width would be best for Brody. She sent me a wide 1 1/2″ as well as a 1″ but suggested the 1″ would probably be best for Brody. She was correct. Just one of the many reasons I like working with and promoting small business owners!

The collars themselves are very sturdy and professionally finished. I am an admitted collar snob so I try to steer away from the dull, the mass-produced, and the flimsy. This is none of these things.

Sirius Republic also offers a unique New Collars for Life Guarantee. Anyone with a dog knows collars have a shelf life just due to living on a hairy dog neck, so for a company to offer a free replacement after two years is pretty impressive.

I’m already eyeing some of the other styles in stock- I mean, Koa kind of needs this one, don’t ya think? Roawr!

    I think the skinny buckle collars are my favourite, if only because my cocker is on the smaller side, and the Dippy Dots Ocean Brown would offset her red hair brilliantly.

    I liked the gray skull absolutely dangerous regular 1 inch buckle. I think it would look good on our Boston Terrier, Ares. He’s definitely dangerous!

    Ooh oooh. (raises hand) I love martingale collars. I say the Nantucket Green in a 1.5″…My big old lab still likes to put on the brakes occasionally and these work wonders to prevent collar slips.

    Clyde would love to have the regular blue bandana martingale collar. I’ve never tried one of those on him, but I’ve looked at that style before.
    And yes, I do think Koa needs the blue leopard print collar! Clyde’s collar now is blue, and it looks great against his black fur.

    So many good choices! I would have to have the xl wide martingale collar with the pumpkin fabric. Perfect fall fashion, and I have been meaning to try a martingale collar with my Irish Wolfhound. The current collar slips right over his head no matter what we do.

    Looking over the collars, I wanted to stay in the pink family since I’m such a girlie, girl puggle. I was drawn to Friends, Peace Pup but my favorite is Hearts Paws and Bones! What a statement I can make with that one!!

    HELLO, TWINKLE STARR OF COURSE! (medium). A 1 1/2″ isn’t too thick for a 65lb girl is it? She’s a puller and I am thinking that wider would spread of the pressure more.

    Love the collars! Thank you so much for sharing. I, too, love collars. I have not tried a quick-release martingale and would love to. For my beagle Daisy, I try to always gets something with red in it, so I am partial to the 3/4″ Red Leopard and the Lil Crabs collars.

    My Sheltie Dakota would love one of these! He prefers the Martingdale quick release collar. He isn’t fussy but loves the mushroom one and any of them that would compliment his coloring (he is brown, white black, mostly sable)
    I also “liked” the collars on the Facebook fan page!!!
    My Dakota has been wearing the SAME collar now for 3 and a half years….I think it is time for a change and these are unique and adorable!

    What a great bunch of dog collars! I love them all! I will have to make sure to recommend them to my dog owning friends too. I became a fan on Facebook and the one that I think would look best on my Mini Schnauzer Batman is the “Preppy Stripes Turquoise & Blue” (Item# buckle-preppystripesblue-1inch). He has been wearing the same plain solid color collar since we got him (3yrs) and this one would be quite an upgrade! He would be super appreciative of a new handsome collar make-over if he was chosen! :)

    Perused the website and have chosen the Preppy Pup buckle collar as the one I’d choose for Hamlet (probably in 3/4″ since his Boston Terrier body is a bit smaller than the Goldenbeast). I love the red, white, and blue diagonal stripes!

    The 1″ Shrooms buckle collar is darling! I’m a big fan of Martingale collars, but we just replaced Tucker’s a few months ago, so he’s more in need of a new buckle collar at the moment. Although if we win, I’d probably be compelled to buy him the matching Shrooms Martingale, lol.
