Party animals!

June 1, 2010 by Dr. V

*I don’t know what is going on with Flickr- the pictures are randomly not showing up here and there- each time I refresh different ones become available. Hopefully it will be working more normally later on. Curses!!

I divided the weekend pictures into two parts but I’m actually going in reverse chronological order. The first part, “Baking With Brody”, will go up later this week because a couple people asked for the recipe for his birthday cake. The second part is just us being silly having fun with a party. My motto in life is, “Celebrate Everything.” And we do.

The table was set with care with all the panache a 5 year old can summon.

The cake waited nervously. It had come under attack by the birthday boy already once, earlier in the day. It knew the stay of execution was temporary.

The birthday boy arrived, ready to party.

The guests were summoned and similarly attired.

(Right about now she’s thinking, “Why did I leave that rescue again?”)

“What’s with all this singing?” the birthday boy demands. “Can I just eat already?”

I’m sorry, cake. It had to be done.

First piece goes to the king.

The king takes a taste and declares it is Good.

Gone? What do you mean GONE?

I am the KING and I DEMAND MORE CAKE!!!

Who thought it was a good idea to put the dog at the dining room table anyway? Shortly thereafter, the king was deposed.

What is this? Is this what I think it is?

Oh yeah. And the donut even matches the hat. BOOYAH!

Brody, you are almost a grown man now. It is time.

The force is strong in this padawan.

Study hard, master the force and the rewards are great.

Do our party guests have what it takes to be a Jedi donut master?

Eh….not so much. (she got to eat it anyway.)

Partying and mastering the art of the donut is thirsty work.

I’m so bummed that all the pics except two are “currently unavailable”. I’ll have to check back later – sounds like it was an awesome party!

The donut matches the hat matches the blog. Why do I get the feeling that your scrubs are turquoise, lime green and purple?

Blade would be very proud of you and your party skills. Some of the photos of Brody remind me of Blade (especially the tongue coming out while waiting for his piece of cake). If Brody is spoiled anything close to Blade, by his third birthday he’ll understand the singing means GOOD THINGS. And that it eventually leads to CAKE!
