Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week kicks off today! I’m really excited to see how everyone will help get the word out about these marvelous pets waiting to find a home.
I am working on some posts for this week about my own two ahem “less adoptables”, senior black lab Koa and “bad luck” black cat Apollo, but in the meantime I wanted to remind everyone of how easy it is to participate if you find yourself stymied for posting options:
The Facebook Challenge Page has a downloadable template blog post that you can cut and paste right onto your blog. There is also a press release you can send to your local news media to see if they can help spread the word.
Of course, finding local ‘less adoptable’ pets in your area via petfinder and featuring them is always a great way to go too. Or do both. Why not?
There is a super extra good reason to participate- we have two generous sponsors (as of now), Litter Robot and Hartz, who are pledging $5 PER POST that will benefit two wonderful rescue organizations that specialize in harder to place pets- Blind Cat Rescue and the Grey Muzzle Organization. Cut, paste, add your post to the linky, and $10 goes to those who need it a whole lot.
