It’s very interesting to me to see the various ways in which companies are starting to recognize the power of bloggers. We (collective we) have quite a voice, and we aren’t afraid to use it. Over and over and over. In fact it’s sometimes hard to get us to shut up, but I suppose that is part of our allure.
If my experience with the pet blogging community has taught me anything, it’s this: the key to a pet blogger’s heart is through a pet in need. Eating a Pupperoni on Ustream nearly killed me, but I did it, because it helped my local shelter.
There is pretty much no other way I would have done it (except for maybe like a thousand dollars, but then only for half a Pupperoni, and I still would have felt obligated to donate the money because I would have felt too guilty otherwise.)
This isn’t part of the Adopt a Seriously Adoptable Pet Week challenge we have going on next week, but Pedigree launched a giveaway in conjunction with BlogPaws that is just too easy to not participate in:
For each blog that posts about the Pedigree Adoption Drive through September 19th, Pedigree will donate a bag of their new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide. It’s simple: Write a post, help a dog. You do not need to be a ‘pet’ blogger to participate. Any blog will do! A-hem, PerezHilton…
Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop, to help raise awareness for the “Write a post, help a dog” effort. Make a post, put your link up at the Blog Hop, and voila. I wrote this while me kids were splashing in the bath, time I might otherwise be tooling around on the net. 5 minutes to give a dog something to eat- that’s about as easy at it gets!
