Dr. V’s Kiss My Blarney Garage Sale!

March 17, 2011 by Dr. V

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, a traditional Irish blessing that seems particularly apropos:

We’re on this Earth together,
And if we would be brothers,
Fight not just on your own behalf
But for the sake of others.

I don’t have awesome products to sell like the people in the previous post, so I had to resort to badgering other people to help me out to come up with some offerings. All proceeds benefit World Vets, of course.

Item 1: YOUR PET IMMORTALIZED ON PAWCURIOUS

Dan Sipple, the mastermind behind the awesome drawings on pawcurious, is cooking up some great new sketches for the new and improved pawcurious that is being designed as we speak.

The drawings are my pets and random animals. I have never allowed other animals to be a part of the site- Until now. The winning bidder will get to have their pet immortalized on the new website by Dan! He very generously agreed to donate his time to create a one of a kind image to be incorporated into the new website.

Auction here!

Item 2: Eat the Change

I figured no one would actually pay to go out to dinner with me, so I asked the rest of the Be the Change crew to join me. Miraculously enough, they agreed! So if you’ve ever wanted to pick Dorian’s brain about Your Daily Cute, or get kitty litter tips from Caroline, or just ask me what the heck was going through my head when I agreed to eat cat litter, here’s your chance.

The bidding is for a dinner out with us at the Blog Paws 2011 event in Virginia August 25-27. Did I mention the 26th is my birthday? And I ALWAYS have fun on my birthday. Always.

Auction here!

Item 3: YouCurious

OK, this one isn’t an auction, just an offer. My guest posts are few and far between, for a variety of reasons. However, I am willing to make an exception for the Paws for Japan cause.

In exchange for a $50 donation to World Vets, you can create a guest post on pawcurious on any animal-related cause you’d like (subject to veto if you want to write about your awesome puppy mill or how vets are terrible humans, etc.) Examples could be:

  • This is my site that sells cute cat clothes
  • This is a rescue I really like and want everyone to know about
  • This is a pet food I make and it’s great and we have a new kibble shape I want to tell you about
  • My dog is way cuter than Brody and here is visual proof

Do you get credit for funneling contributions to ChipIn so that you know how much $$ has come from your readers? Awesome idea on the auctions, BTW! My bid has been submitted…

There’s no real way to trace them, but that’s OK. πŸ˜€
