Rescue Stories

February 22, 2010 by Dr. V

Hey man, what are you in for? Biting a kid?

Me? No, my family just got overwhelmed with some life stuff. You?

About a year ago, I got turned into a rescue.

Someone adopted me because they wanted a friend for their dog.

Then the other dog died, and I was really sad. So they gave me back because I cried too much.

I’m Kekoa, by the way.

Teal’c. A pleasure.

So what happens when they take you on the other side of the door?

No clue. They’ve been calling dogs all day, though.

86753!

That’s me. Wish me luck.

Meanwhile, outside….

Teal’c, huh? Guess they were Stargate fans. I’m Jon, by the way. What do you say we go home.

37712!

Wow, you’re a real sweetheart. Thanks for the kisses, kiddo. Let’s blow this popsicle stand.

*The real Teal’c has blossomed in his new home and Jon reports despite their best attempts, refuses to answer to anything BUT Teal’c. πŸ™‚

So glad it worked out okay for Teal’c… Henry worries about those poor dogs in shelters all over the country – Daddy has allergies so Mommy can’t adopt them all like she’d like to!

yay! my first baby was a humane society puppy from a litter and a few years later, my second baby was a 5 month old stray at animal control. My first baby is now across the rainbow bridge, but my second baby is still kickin’ and has had her forever home for 12 1/2 years now!
