Congratulations to the winner, Marie Collins! I hope you love it!
It’s Giveaway Tuesday! My favorite day! Today we have something for all the cat owners out there, something that almost all of us have owned or have thought about owning at some point: a drinking fountain.
Despite their well known aversion to baths, cats love water- as long as they don’t have to sit in it. Turn on a stream of water in the sink and it’s like a kitty magnet- zoom! In they come, tongues extended as they oh so delicately lap away at the faucet.
Unfortunately, renal and urinary medical issues are very common to cats. Hydration can play a key role in keeping our kitties healthy. Cats who drink more because they are enjoying aerated, fresh-tasting water are better hydrated, and that is good all around. I recommend these to any owner whose pet has crystals, stones, regular UTIs, or kidney disease as one way to increase a pet’s overall water intake.
I had an old school Drinkwell fountain for many years, until the motor blew out. When Drinkwell asked me if I was interested in reviewing the Drinkwell 360, I realized that fountain technology has evolved in the years I’ve been not paying attention. Who knew? The pet fountains now look less like an aquarium and more like the actual fountain Brody’s always getting in trouble for drinking out of at Grandma’s!
The premise is the same as it has always been: the Drinkwell fountain uses a pump and a filter to continuously circulate, filter, and aerate water. The model I received has several spout rings so you can pick anywhere from one to five streams of water. I chose 5 because I thought it looked prettiest that way.
With a 360 degree ring-like bowl, multiple pets can congregate around the bowl like it’s the work water cooler:
They also make a stainless steel version, if that’s your thing. It’s quite attractive.
Piece of cake, I thought, the dogs will love this. Hooray! A dog AND cat fountain! I plugged it in, listened to the gentle gurgle of the water, and sat down to wait.
I felt like a National Geographic photographer trying to capture the white rhino at the water hole. The dogs knew the water was there, and they were interested in it, but they couldn’t quite bring themselves to go actually drink out of it.
Here’s how 90% of the pictures turned out.
The resident jungle ocelot and water fountain expert did turn up to survey the new device, but the Goldenbeast proved too big a deterrent to cause him to come closer.
In desperation, I finally tossed a couple of pieces of kibble into the fountain so that they would get the idea- yes, it’s water, and yes, you can put your face in it.
My favorite part is how he sticks his head in so enthusiastically you can hear him blowing bubbles. You can see how easily the water splashes out, though, so I would heed the manufacturer’s recommendation and put a placemat or towel underneath it.
Nonetheless, that did the trick. It took only a couple of hours before the pets were all more than happy to drink from the fountain. The Drinkwell continues to be a great concept, and with the new additions to the product line there are more chocies than ever to find a product that works for you.
Today’s giveaway is for the 128 ounce, 1 gallon capacity Drinkwell 360 from Veterinary Ventures. The fountain retails for $64.99.
If you are interested in the Drinkwell 360 giveaway, just leave a comment below with your pets’ current drinking situation and why the Drinkwell would be a great product to have! Winner will be chosen at random using random.org. Contest closes 11:59 PM PST Monday March 28th.

Our 7 cats love their Drinkwell 360 — so much so, I have wanted to get another one to put in another part of the house. With 7, there is always a crowd around the fountain. I clean it about once a week and change the filter every 2 or 3 weeks. Plus on this version you can (and are supposed to) even take apart the pump to clean. The cover comes off and you can rinse off the gunky cat hair!

Hi Dr. V!
I’d love this fountain, as I just can’t seem to get used to the regular Platinum DrinkWell fountain that mom bought me for my Gotcha Day.
Purrsonally, I really just want to drink from the dang bathtub faucet, but Dad won’t let me anymore! He says leaving it on for me makes the faucet leaky.
So I sit in the tub and look at that stupid fountain. Mom seems to think that the style of the fountain you’re giving away might be better. This would be the third fountain style and they say the third time’s the charm!

Our pups are all about water, whether it’s in the dish, in the baby pool, or in the Shell Rock River – we can’t keep them out of any of it! Would be nice to have an easy way to give them fresh water all day long, being working parents & all. Thanks, Dr. V – love your product reviews, of the items we’ve purchased, they’ve all been spot on.

This is so cool!!! My 3 cats current drinking situation is………..
A large plastic glass on the coffee table. I KNOW! we tried the bowl thing but for some reason they liked being able to sit up more and drink out of the cup. I LOVE to drink out of the tub and sink and if it wasnt so wasteful I would keep a small stream of water running all day. I love to also dip their paws into the bowl of water we leave out. This would be perfect for them.
Love the product reviews, still sad I dont get Zero odor pet in Canada.

I bought a different fountain a couple of years ago for Alley, but it stopped working as soon as my 60-day return window ended. 🙁 Alley is now resigned to drinking from the bathroom faucet when I brush my teeth. Poor Alley and poor me. It’s hard to brush your teeth with a cat in the sink! She also drinks from a ramekin that I keep on the bathroom sink when the faucet isn’t running. I think she would LOVE this 360 fountain! I know Clyde would use it. He’s not picky and will drink water from anything!
Love the video review, by the way! 🙂

My Milo LOVES LOVES LOVES the fountains at the park…not only for drinking…but to leap into! Its his favorite summer spot! I think he would be fascinated by this fountain drinking system. Right now he drinks out of a raised bowl next to his food. Unfortunately…it is way easier for me to just dump more water in than actually pick it up and rinse it out. (I do rinse it out but not all the time! Especially if I’m in a hurry!) I would feel much better having a water bowl with a filter keeping it fresh! I think Milo would love it!

It is like pulling teeth to get my Eesa to drink. She will only drink out of a small glass custard dish, and as she suffers from cystitis, it’s important she stays hydrated. I have wanted to get a fountain for a while, but because of one reason or another it keeps getting put on the back burner. Right now I just add extra water to her food (it’s raw) to keep her hydrated. I REALLY REALLY hope I win!!

We’ve had an older model Drinkwell for years (the waterfall type) and my anti-establishment kitty loves it. It just started leaking a few weeks ago but thank goodness a simple $2 new o-ring replacement fixed the issue. However, anti-establishment kitty has her own barricaded area and does not share her space with friendly kitty (Liam) or Tucker the Dog. Tucker and Liam would love love love a Drinkwell of their own, and the 360 version would be perfect for a dog and cat to share. Tucker would especially appreciate it, since Liam already horns in on Tuckers’ water bowl while reveling in fact that his too high for poor Tucker to return the favor.
Miranda E says
We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, we keep their water in a fairly small bowl so we have to change it out at least twice a day. We did have one of those big water cooler looking things but the water would sit in it so long it would get grody ” ( I know our cats would love the fountain, they love sitting on the edge of the bathtub to lap up any stray drops they can.
Georgia Jewel says
I just bought the cats a cheap fountain for the bathroom but would love a big one for all the animals to share.
Leena says
I’ve been wanting to try a Drinkwell fountain for ages now, but could never find room in the budget to get one. My two cats would absolutely adore one, I have no doubt. Though they’d probably play with it about as much as they’d drink from it; a great enrichment tool!
Leigh says
My kitties have never tried a fountain but I’m sure they would love it! One of them does love to drink from the faucet, and he likes to catch the water in his paws, too.
Lex says
I love this! My 3 kitties had a drinking fountain that they loved, but the motor died recently and we haven’t wanted to spend the money on a new one. I know they miss it though, so it would be great to win one for them! Plus the 360 degree design would be perfect for them. They’re surprisingly territorial about the water bowl, so a large bowl with lots of streams of water to drink from would be great. Thanks!
Lee Ann L. says
I am currently using a huge fiestaware bowl for our two cats – yes, they’re spoiled. Chessie (the elderly cat) wouldn’t mind one of these because we had a similar one years ago and I loved it. However, it broke over time. I didn’t really want to go out and by another one because it was ugly and clumsy. Hence, the Fiestaware bowl. I’m not sure how Gracie would like it; but, I love the design of this one. I didn’t know they came out with a new design. So cool!
Thanks for a chance to win.
Tricia Thompson says
my kitty is 17 and needs to stay hydrated the best she can. This would help ! Wonder if my maltese and bichon would sneak sips from it too? :o)
Vicky says
I need a Drinkwell so the Weebs will stop jumping into the kitchen sink and howling like she broke a limb until we get up and turn the water on for her!
Kerri says
My sister’s dog, Reggie is a sloppy drinker. I think this may actually make less of a mess because he can just drink from a stream instead of dunking his whole face in it. Plus when my parents’ dog, Mocha comes to visit, she’d be more willing to share. She loves drinking from the hose or a water bottle anyway.
Cynthia says
Our pits love water. One of our pits will drink until the bowel is completely empty. We would love to have one of those and I think they would do. What a neat idea and creation. Thank You for a great giveaway and a chance to win an awsome item!!
Jamie says
My 2 cats would love their own drinking fountain. Right now, the three dogs in the house, keep all of the water bowls on empty and it seems the cats are always surrounding it, and letting us know that it is empty. It would be neat to put up for only them to use!
Amber Ruth says
I have 2 cats, they both LOVE drinking out of the sink & the tub. As soon as I walk into the bathroom, i have 2 cats sitting in the tub staring at the faucet, then at me, then at the faucet again. The guilt trip comes over me and I turn it on for them. Drives me crazy because sometimes I forget to turn the little running stream off so having this fountain would definitely make 2 cats happy and me as well!
Katie says
My 2 cats have an old fashioned drinking situation…a bowl with water that I refill every day. I think they would like to have their own drinking fountain. It sure makes the water look more appealing and fresh.
Teri and the cats of Curlz and Swirlz says
I have 1 of these fountains, but would love a 2nd one! I have used almost every kind of fountain on the market and the 360 is by far the easiest to clean–no nooks and crannies and the cats love the streams of water where more than 1 cat can drink at the same time. I wash mine out twice a week and just tossed the filter since I clean it often.
Steph B says
I have a Springer Spaniel pupply who likes to dunk his whole head, ears included, into any water dish I’ve provided. He DOES have an obsession with drinking from the tap in the bathtub, so I wonder if the fountain could help us to keep our kitchen floor from looking like one of the Great Lakes. Sounds like a great product!
Susan Montgomery says
Funny, our cat’s current low tech drinking solution (one of those water bottle over the bowl things) just broke, so I would love to bring 14 year old Katana up to date with this fountain! I know she would love it as she likes to play in water, you can’t run a bath without her in there. Katana has been my son’s best friend through divorce, moves, teasing at school, etc so she deserves a little pampering.
Jenny Dillon says
Our fur babies would love this fountain,
currently we use water bowls of variousshapesand sizes throughout the house. Cats especially like fresh water so this fountain would be a hit with them. Of course the dogs are always interested in whatever the cat’s have ; so they’ll end up in line for the water too. I also like the whole Zen vibe , nice tranquil water sounds:)
Michelle says
I have four kitties that like fresh water constantly. Right now their bowl is a glass bowl in the kitchen. I have to refill it so many times a day because they want their water to be fresh or they will tip my drinking glass over or go to the watering cans after I fill them up to water the flowers.
I think this watering fountain would be great for them because they would drink the filtered flowing water instead of sitting water.
Alisha says
I have three cats with different drinking habits, and this fountain would satisfy all of them. Persephone prefers drinking from a pool of water, while Orion and Penelope prefer streams of water. If the bathroom or kitchen sink is on and they are on the counter, then it’s guaranteed that they will be drinking from the sink! To them, this fountain would be like a magical sink, because the water is always “on”!
Lori says
I think that Raven would LOVE this fountain, she sits in the bathtub and likes it when the faucet drips, I keep a little cup in there for her as well. But there is also a larger ceramic water bowl for all the cats to use and it is filled nightly.
Jeanne says
My cat, Scully, Luvs to drink out of the faucet in the bathroom sink. Unfortunately, she’s getting old and arthritic and can’t make the leap on her own any more. The fountain would be perfect for her. Of course, the dogs would probably like it too!
Karen says
My cat drinks with her paws. I’d like to have a Drinkwell fountain just to see what she’d do with it.
Christa Sangataldo says
I have a big orange cat & a small water bowl. He doesn’t like to stick his face into the bowl and will only drink out of it if it’s filled to the top. He’s about 2 years old & doesn’t have any urinary problems. But I am concerned that he’s not drinking enough, although I do see him try to drink out of the pool which isn’t such a good idea. 🙂 Thank you.
Angel @ Life with LuLu says
My cats LOVE to drink from the bathroom tap. They ignore the water dish and jump in the tub to ask for a drink. Very strange kitties, indeed. LOL I think they’d love this fountain, because they really prefer the running water over any standing water.
Kate says
My cat Midnight recently battled a stress-induced Urinary Tract Infection. So I think he not only needs a water fountain for better hydration, he also deserves to be pampered a little. 🙂 Thanks!
Ashley says
My darling baby boy Harry suffers from crystals and has had to be rushed to the vet a couple of times due to UTIs. Getting him to drink water has always been a struggle because it must be fresh water.. that and my other cat Gracie has an endless fascination with tipping over and thus emptying both water bowls we have in the house. A Drinkwell has been on my list of things to buy for quite sometime, but I’ve not yet been able to afford one.
heather t says
I currently have 9 cats, and 1 Dachshund. And, between the dog and ALL the cats we have, I am forever refilling water bowls. So, this would be a wonderful addition to the household, and save my back a little of the strain of bending over 20 million times a day to refill water bowls;)
Krista says
I’ve been wanting a fountain for my two cats forever! One them is really picky about fresh water and the other constantly splashes water out of the bowl attempting to aerate it I suppose! I hope this would solve our problems!!
Gloria Malone says
With multiple cats, we are constantly filling water bowls and turning on faucets to allow the cats to catch the drips. We had a fountain and the cats loved it. When we had the fountain, we didn’t have to worry about whether we had turned off the faucet or not (we know it can be a waste of water, but they love it so much we “treat” them every so often.) Our cats loved the fountain and this would be a great addition to our home.
Belinda Butler says
I have two dogs who love to drink out of the water bowl at the same time. Regularly gets water all over the floor. This would give them plenty of room to get a cool drink.
Jahmila says
My dane Ludo would love a drinkwell. He can get a water bowl gross with drool in with just a few trips to it. I think if he had one where the water was circulating it would get rid of the yucky drool film sitting on top of the water in his bowl and help me but not having to change the water every time he drinks.
scout says
i’d luv to get this fountain! we used to have one but mummy accidentally stepped on it when she broke her foot. currently i share my glass bowl of water with my 3 sisters….. but they all like to jump in the sink and catch water, i can’t cuz my legs are too short 🙁 it would be nice to have my own fun way of drinking water. also i just went to the vet last week and mummy was told i need to drink more water, cuz of a pH problem and crystals, and i really don’t like to drink from the glass bowl. the vet suggested trying a fountain. mommy’s been adding water to my food cuz i don’t drink enough, and i’m tired of eating watered-down food. so now she is trying to save up money to buy a fountain. thank you, meow ~^.,.^~
Valerie G says
My dog Maggie would love to have a fountain water bowl. I can see her sticking her nose in the fountain part and being all confused since it’s not something she’s used to. But, i think that she would love it and it would help her to drink more water. She typically only drinks water after eating or after running around and playing a lot.
Jeanne says
Right now my cats drink out of a plain old bowl, but they would love this – I have one that come running every time the bathroom faucet comes on.
susan barnes says
I have 5 dogs and the 2 olderest are starting to show signs of kidney issues. I think that the drinkwell would be fantastic to encourage them to keep hydrated and benefit from healthy, fresh water. I may need to get one of these! Addtionally, I have “Dockdogs” who LOVE the water so I can imagine they would get a kick out of this waterer!
Joan F. says
I have been looking for a water station for my pets and the Drinkwell 360 looks awesome! I have two Shih Tzus (Hannah Mae and Stella) and a cat (Sherlock) who at times he thinks he is a dog. Hannah Mae, has had major issues with bladder stones – both kinds of stones. We have done the special diet to dissolve the stones. She has had bladder surgery to remove the calcium oxalate stones. Hannah is on a special diet and meds to hopefully keep the stones at bay! But the piece that would really help is getting her to drink more. A fresh water supply would be the perfect answer. Sherlock isn’t a help in this matter as he thinks batting the water bowl around to see the water splash is a great fun! He tries self aerating! So we have two woofs and a meow for the Drinkwell 360!
Marla says
Turf is the name of the game around my house. I have one small fountain that the ninja assasin kitty “owns” and shares only with the chihuahua. The other 3 cats are left to sneak a drink when ever they can. All are rescues with their own issues. I have one female that has had FLUTD for the past 2 years & if there was another fountain where she hangs out I think it would help her so much. She likes the other fountain but is too scaredy cat to go there. I’ve spent $$$ & a lot of TLC to get this little one healthy. This fountain would be MUCH appreciated & used in my kitty kingdom 🙂 All are rescues that have cost a lot to rehabilitate but each & every one of them are so worth it & loved dearly. It seems like I’m always paying vet bills, buying necessities such as litter & food with little left for an item such as this. Please make our day!!

I have three sweet kitties who LOVE their water. However, after blowing through the motors of three petmate fresh flow fountains, we gave up and invested in the cheap but reliable basic 1 gallon water dispensers. We figured gravity doesn’t break :). Our little girl quickly figured out how to knock some water out of the bowl to get the water in the jug on top to flow down and make that satisfying bubbling noise, but the boys seem indifferent. With three cats around the water never sits long anyway. I’ve been hoping to invest in something a little more high tech for awhile now, especially as my kitties are getting older and I’d like to make the water a bit more enticing, but right now that is a luxury my babies need to do without. I’d love to give them this awesome fountain-although I have to wonder how they will think it compares to the universal favorite for water in our house….the bathtub right after Mommy showers!
Nancy says
We like the choice of drinking from the spout or from the bowl. The 2 shih tzus like running fresh water and can’t dip those flat faces too low into a bowl. And the 2 schnauzers need to drink as much water as possible to prevent stones. They like new things so I know they would try this and love it. What a great giveaway item. I’m sure whoever gets it, is going to really enjoy & benefit!
Tammy says
I keep thinking about a fountain for our cats! I really love the way these look!! We have a stainless steel bowl for them now, but I am sure it doesn’t taste fresh for very long – we don’t change it often enough I’m afraid.
shannon says
my awesome cat Stretch curently has a different brand water fountain that i find horribly challenging to clean properly. he absolutely loves streaming water from the faucet so i’ve been looking at this model for the past few months but have yet to pull the trigger so to speak.
Heather says
We have 2 kitties that have urinary problems; one develops crystals and the other has battled UTI infections on & off for the past 10 years. We also have 4 dogs (2 foster) & 3 other kitties. Needless to say, we have water bowls all over the house & everyone gets water added to their food. We would love to try the fountain out 🙂
Thanks,
Heather

We have well water, but our two dogs are only drink filtered water (who can blame them really?). This would be a great addition to our house, since if they feel there isn’t enough water in their water bowl, they start working on opening the toilet cover (apparently the temperature makes up for the lack of filtering there, I guess). Not to mention that the novelty of the water may just occupy them long enough to keep them from pulling coffee filters and the like out of the garbage can and putting them in our bed. 🙂
Donna says
I’m a new dog owner and I would love to try any new products.

Hey!
My guy Tucker is a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog and he just has sad little bowls of water that I change a few times every day. Granted he gets cold, brita filtered water (bc my tap water now has a chlorine-ish smell). With the summer coming up he would LOVE the Drinkwell because he plays so hard outside and then is so thirsty.
I always make sure to have an extra bottle of water and some kind of bowl for him when we go out, bc the Frenchie side of him gets so easily overheated.

My cats love drinking from the faucet! The older (18 yr old) seems to be hypnotized by it! We have water bowls upstairs and down, and try to keep them as fresh as possible. This looks terrific!
Allison says
I have two kitties, one who is a stubborn water drinker (haven’t found a trick for her yet) and the other who only ever wants to drink from the bathroom faucet or out of my water glasses (she loves sticking her paw in it then licking it off) One of these would be perfect! I think both kitties would enjoy the freshness.
Sirena says
Currently my boy drinks out of a stainless steel water bowl. I think the fountain would make for some entertaining videos to share. He loves to dunk his head as if he is bobbing for apples. Oh and don’t let him get next to a real water fountain. Twice he has jumped in two different fountains. The first time I thought he was going to just look at it. He sure did…… from the inside! Everyone was walking & driving by starring at us as I tried to get him out. Out of embarrassment, I turned around to all the people watching and said “thank you, that was our show for today. We will be here at the same time tomorrow.”
Lucy says
Love it! and it looks big enough for my 4 furries to share. Right now I have one cat who will only drink out of the bathroom sink, the 2 dogs that will drink ANYTHING and the big guy (cat) who will drink what the dogs are after just to terrorize them.
Hope says
I have an unsociable tortie, Molly, whose only goal in life is to drink water from the bathtub faucet. We bought a generously-sized water fountain for all of our 4 kitties to enjoy, and Molly only visits it occasionally. While talking to her about turning on the bathtub faucet, yet again, she asked if perhaps she could have her very own water fountain away from those rude creatures. She thinks it would make her tortured existence more bearable…that, and lots of tuna.
PS. Gus the dog is completely perplexed by water fountains or anything that moves in water, like ice cubes. He is actually scared of the doggie water fountain at the dog park.
UmmSqueakster says
Squeaky currently has a plain plastic water dish. We have to change the water several times a day, as she likes to lick water off her paws. Since we moved to our new apartment with wooden floors, the water gets dirty pretty darn quick, since dust and dirt seems to stick more to her paws.
I wonder if a drinkwell fountain would be able to filter out the paw dirt?
Adri says
Our kitties have two bowls they drink out of, one indoors and one in a detached office serviced by a cat door, and then there’s the pool and any standing puddles. Total ick! Maybe the fountain would teach them that water outside doesn’t need to taste like chlorine or have bugs floating in it :/
Amanda says
After CG was diagnosed with urinary crystals, we upgraded from a regular cat-sized water bowl (which can be pretty small in my opinion) to a larger, 8-cup Pyrex measuring cup. It’s not too fancy, but I feel better knowing he has MORE water available. I try to change it as much as possible too, so he’s more inclined to drink from it. He also has cerebellar hypoplasia, so spilling his water bowl has been an issue in the past. But it’s not a big deal, as he’s so much cuter than he is a mess-maker 🙂
Liz says
My pit bull, Inara, and my cat, Niobe, need this because right now all they have is a boring stainless steel bowl. My cat, who is the most anxious girl ever, would really enjoy having a little fountain to drink out of and play in.
LB says
My pets would love one of the Drinkwells! Right now they drink out of a water dish that I have to clean constantly. My oldest one drinks out of anything that looks like it has fresh water in it, e.g. my mug, or my drinking cup, the tub, etc.
Elysa says
Both of my dogs would love this….they enjoy drinking from running spigots, so this should be fun for them. Right now they have a large ceramic bowl that we change out twice a day (or more frequently if Grace decides to dip her paws!). This would be an interesting addition to their meal area!
Tracy says
My cat Peanut LOVES drinking from the tap so much that he’ll tap me on the arm and have me follow him to the bathroom to turn it on for him. He can’t stand (no pun intended) standing water. The Drinkwell is the PERFECT idea for both him (he’d have running water all the time) AND me (I wouldn’t have to run back and forth from the bathroom to turn the damned tap on and off). ,o) Paws crossed!
Amanda says
We have been wanting to get one of these for our household of four cats and two dogs for quuite some time. I’m sure it will be quite a hit because the pets literally queue up near the master bath any time I am in the vicinity asking me to “turn on teh tap” so they can get “fresh” water!
Judy says
I have a Le Bistro Microban Waterer for my mini dachshund, and my large cat. The fountain would be fantastic!
Mel says
I have two cats (both male) and two dogs. All have continual access to water, with one bowl downstairs and one on the main level, but all four greatly favor the bowl upstairs. I would love to be able to give them access to a fountain, especially for my cats’ sake, but find it hard to shell out the big bucks for a fountain, since there are other things to spend money on for my animals (like new Kongs, or new catnip-stuffed toys, or scratching furniture- the list is endless). It’s also hard to spend that sort of money without personal experience with the product. Will my kids get into it? Will the animals like it? Is it durable? However, I know myself well enough to know that if it works, I will likely get two- one for each level of the house. Winning this fountain would fix that first hurdle so I don’t have to jump it.
Barb says
I have 3 cats, and they drink out of a bowl that looks like a big martini glass! I’m always changing the water, because I figure the colder it is, the more they’ll like it? Is that why they enjoy drinking out of the toilet because its always cold? I’ve often wondered that. Hehe
KT says
What a great giveaway! We have a cat that turns his nose up at his own private bowl, preferring instead dog water. Who knew dog water would be infinitely tastier? 😀
Emily K says
I have a water “waterfall” device but it makes a lot of noise (doesn’t hold much water) and scares the cat away so I don’t use it. She mostly gets her water from the dog’s bowl which frequently has hair, dirt, grass, etc floating in it from the dog’s tennis-ball catching mouth. I’d love for the cat to get her own fresh water supply!

I am a volunteer with the Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS) in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia Canada. We are always looking for better ways to get our animals in care (now numbered at approximately 160 cats and one dog) the proper hydration they need to avert a multitude of health problems. We have tried just about everything! Our last attempt at a water fountain proved disastrous and messy 🙁 The Petmate founntain is a great device for a household of a few cats…but not a foster cottage room with 15 cats at once! They are so smart, and the ringleader named Jitterbug, the smartest cat I have ever encountered, dismantled it pretty quickly! I have reviewed the fountain you are offering and it looks simply perfect. Most especially, multiple cats can drink simultaneously which is fabulous and it does not appear Jitterbug could take it apart and chew on the filter! Our non-profit, volunteer-based animal rescue would be very grateful to have you donate this item to our lovely creatures 🙂 Many thanks CAPS volunteer A Clarke

My posse’ consists of 5 ‘Fur’babies and 2 ‘Mutant’babies (Himalayans and Sphynx) and it is just not exciting enough to have their meetings around the water bowls. I think this fountian would bring some excitement and hopefully entice more water intake at the same time. We would love to have this beautiful 360’ fountian as the centerpiece in our dining quarters.
Jessica says
Oh wow, this is absolutely fabulous! I think our Tom would love it, since he’s always running to the sink or the shower to drink from the faucets. Right now, he has a bowl of water that we refill many times throughout the day and put ice in during the afternoon (the southern heat makes his water really warm and he won’t touch it).
Robyn says
My cat Karl has already had a few bouts of UTI’s recently and he’s not a happy camper about it and neither am I. unfortunately i’m in the office from 9 hours a day so i don’t have the chance to change his water frequently like i’d want to and i think this would be beneficial to him as a way of entertainment and being hydrated better.
Shirley Johnell says
This fountain would be fabulous for my 3 Yorkies. They love trying to drink from a watering hose. I like the idea of their water being aerated and think the sound of the fountain would be soothing for them. Thanks for the giveaways.
Vee says
This would be great for my cat. He is currently drinking out of a regular bowl and running water, I think, would encourage him to drink more.

I would love to have this. My current dog bowl is one regular bowl that 3 small inside dogs use..Not to pretty to look at. This is perfect for a conversation piece when family and friends come over isn’t it. I would love to just look at it even if they aren’t using it as I love fountains..Thanks for the chance..

After losing my kitty, Simba, last March to kidney disease I was very interested in a drinking fountain for my new babies to help with water intake, especially since they LOVE to jump on the bathroom sink and wait for the water to be turned on! Currently we have the Original Drinkwell fountain which they seem to love. In the next six months or so, my fiance and I will be moving in together which will bring our fur babies together to make three. I think this fountain would be a fabulous way to help with any potential conflict around the water bowl and help promote their best health!

My cats drink a ton of water! However, it causes their bowl to empty out so fast. One the bowl is empty, they start batting it around the floor! I think they would love a fountain of their own 🙂

We have one of those HUGE water cooler type bowls. We love it because we don’t have to fill the water so often, but it collects sooooo much dirt! This one would be perfect because it would keep circulating the water and the water wouldn’t get so gross.

We have two cats, and they do have a drinking fountain (I forget the brand at the moment), but it seems really prone to clogging and it is difficult to find filters for it…..we aren’t particularly happy with it. We end up leaving it unplugged most of the time because of the clogging issue. However, it is a hit when it is running, even with our princess cat. We like to make sure she has a lot of water because she has anxiety which seems to express itself by A LOT of drinking – we actually were worried about her as a kitten, but she has never had any health issues, and the vet said in combination with her obviously anxious disposition that it is probably just her nerves.

PS Our other cat is male, which I understand means he has a higher risk of urinary tract issues; we are careful about the food we feed, etc, but anything to reduce that risk is good in my book.

i recommend drinking fountains to increase water intake for the kitty clients all the time, yet for some reason i never think to buy one for our own cats.? one of our cats does have a history of uti’s. i don’t think he drinks enough perhaps because he has to share the water bowls with the disgusting bulldogs . i think our cats would love to have this fountain to improve the not so refreshing taste of bulldog slobber!

We have one cat, who for the longest time, insisted on when drinking out of the water bowl, dragging it across the kitchen floor. There were many times where we have walked into a water trap created by our dear kitty, Ms. Bojangles. No matter what we did, the water bowl still moved all around… and thats why this fountain would be perfect. We have changed her water bowl to a plastic red solo cup on my nightstand because that seems to be the only way she does not try and move the cup. Another perfect reason why we need this fountain 🙂

Can I still enter? We have a fountain (The kind where the water goes down a slide, no freefall stream) but it is constantly getting clogged and jamming up the pump. Granted, I do have long-haired cats, but come on! Maybe this one would work better, or having 2 would reduce the rate of congestion.

We hope we can still enter. This would be great at our house. We have 3 hounds and the running water would keep the dog slim from gathering on top. They won’t drink if they see slim. BOL. Thanks, The HoundDogs and HoundDogMom

My pets share a water bowl and would love fresh water from this.

My boys drink from a plastic bowl. I’ve always loved the sound and look of the fountain type bowls. I think they would love it too!

We have a bowl in the kitchen (conveniently located near a water source) but of course the dogs *love* the water in the bowl in the family room best (no water source there, we have to carry it from the other end of the house) and will sit and wait by that bowl rather than go into the kitchen for a drink!

Two cats. Two water bowls. Fresh water everyday. And they try to drink out of the sink whenever the water is running. The Drinkwell would be perfect for them!

We have two cats with two boring stainless steel water bowls. Both cats love moving water, so this would be great for them. Thanks for the giveaway.

My six cats currently drink from a giant mixing bowl that is on the floor next to their food dishes. I also have a smaller dish of water on my kitchen counter for them. They all adore drinking straight from tap so I’m sure they’d go crazy for the Drinkwell!

Our two cats always stick their paws in the water before they drink it but I have always had problems with other automatic waterers that I have tried, either they don’t work, are very loud, or are a pain to clean. Right now we just have regular bowls we refill as needed. I would love to try this out, because I have heard a lot of good reviews of it!

Lillian currently uses a water bowl. It would be lovely to have fresh moving water in a fountain because I think she’d find it interesting!

My cat drinks from a bowl right now but he also enjoys drinking from the sink, toilet, or any glasses left on the kitchen table. Hopefully a fountain would redirect his interests. 😉

My baby isn’t complaining, but things could be more luxurious. I have his water in a large hospital type container–but it’s kind of too deep making it somewhat more difficult. Love this idea!
Thanks for the review too
