Giveaway Tuesday: Moda Pet Sunflower bowl!

January 10, 2012 by Dr. V

You know by now how I feel about cutesy pet stuff, right? I mean, it has its place, but as far as my own tastes go I’m constantly on the lookout for something that falls on the sleeker end of things. (This from the person who bought a dinosaur barrette from Anthropologie, so take it with a grain of salt.)

But I digress. When it comes to pets, function still has to have a place over form, or you end up like me with a nice wooden bowl holder that is chomped to bits within a few weeks. So when I see a product that has both form and function, I get admittedly disproportionately excited. I can’t help it.

I recently received a bowl from ModaPet (“Moda” means fashion in Italian, for those keeping track) and I’m hooked. So hooked that I want you to have one too. I’m giving away one ModaPet bowl in the happy Sunflower color.

Form: This particular bowl is a 4 cup version, enough for even the big pooches like Brody and Koa, and comes in a variety of jewel tones like orange, teal, and red. They have the weight of a heavy ceramic bowl, but with the look of glass. They’re pretty enough that my daughter put a handful of flowers in them before realizing they were actually a dog dish. And somehow despite this fragile appearance, this is a bulldog of a bowl.

Function: ModaPet bowls are made of BPA free plastic that is dishwasher safe. The sturdy soft plastic bottom makes it skidproof, and because it is molded on as opposed to being glued on, it will hold up through multiple go rounds in the washer. This puppy is heavy. Even Koa leaves it in place, and I’ve seen her push steel bowls clear to the dining room when she’s in an eating frenzy.

I really like these bowls an awful lot, and I’m not one to wax poetic about eating implements, usually. So here is your chance to have a lovely bowl all for yourself, and you can impress your guests with your Italian designed dog ware to distract them from the Italian shoes they just trashed. Well, at least that’s what I did.

To enter, you know the drill! Comment on who you would like this bowl for, and make sure you enter on the Rafflecopter widget. US/Canada only, please.

The pickiest dog in the world, Oscar! Maybe if I gave him a prettier bowl he wouldn’t be so hard to please! (And if I win I promise to buy one for Sophie too. Wouldn’t want her to feel left out…)

This would be fantastic. I have Mini and Magoo (cats) who TIP over their water dish daily. And I don’t mean they accidentally tip it, I mean they take their paws and push it until it flips over. I would love to see them try with this bowl!

This would be great for my Rizzo!! She likes to pick up her bowl and drop it on my lap when she’s done her dinner and wants more! It looks like this isn’t as easy to grab! ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh this bowl would look perfect in my kitchen! Which has a sunflower theme. ๐Ÿ™‚ And of course my Rory would get to use it. (I don’t think he really care what color his bowl is as long as the food is there. LOL)

My 71 lb border colllie/mix Chandler, would love this bowl. Maybe it would be heavy enough to keep him from tossing it around when he’s done eating!

Sounds perfect for my crazy Pittie cross, Tug; he is, shall we say, an enthusiastic diner.

I have a Basset Hound who sits at his bowl, *roo*-ing his food into submission. Once he feels the food has been thoroughly warned, he then tips the bowl over, spreads the food all over the floor and finally eats it. Basset slobber is terrifically difficult to get off of tile, let me tell you. A bowl like this might be just the solution we’re looking for!

I am Pixel Blue Eyes, a dog blogger. I would love to win this bowl for my dog/cat pack. We all share one big water bowl in the kitchen, and Noel the cat keeps moving it around. We need a good bowl that WON’T move when she plays in it.

How pretty! Would be great to give Griffen all his food in one go and in something he wouldn’t keep rattling around ๐Ÿ˜€ Would look good just sitting out as a water bowl, too, hmm, might need to add more to my wishlist.

My 55-pound shepherd mix, Scout, would look awfully stylish chowing down from this bowl. I love that it won’t move – he tends to push the bowl away from him with his nose as he eats.

I’m tempted to keep this for my cats, because I love the look, but I’m waffling over whether I should to give this to my brother-in-law (they have 2 dogs and foster rescues) if I win.

I’d love to use bowl for my beautiful border collie mix named Maddy. She has cracked many adorable ceramic bowls by herself and with her canine friends. I have offered her water in stainless steel bowls but the picky girl will not drink out of them. This is her only finicky thing though so I’ve decided she’s still perfect. Contest aside: I’m a new reader and your blog is super cute, funny, and useful!

Lizzie probably wouldn’t like these, but the idea that they won’t slip & slide all over the floor REALLY appeals to me. She also drops the stainless steel bowl on my new ceramic floor and this has got to be quieter!! Thanks, Dr. V!
