I’m sure the neighbors love me

September 25, 2009 by Dr. V

The puppy got in trouble chasing Cat around the house.

so off we went to take a walk to let the kitty grouse.

With collar on and leash attached full time for him to drag

With lesson learned I set aside my stylish new poop bag.

We stole a drink-or two- or three- from sprinklers on the corner;

A busybody lady glared at me but we ignored her.

And for the coup de grace we stopped at Old Man Johnson’s yard;

His pride and joy and us’lly manned with full time armored guard-

‘Twas Emmett’s favorite place to stop for leisurely latrine,

He somehow always snuck a quiet poop in there unseen.

And guided thus by wagging angels woofing in the clouds,

Dear Brody stopped to honor him and make old Emmett proud.

    I like when you rhyme. It makes me giggle, which is a much needed break from the panic of facing down my first Microanatomy exam of vet school.

    Brody is a highlight in my day! So cute! How do you like that collar? Does it work well? Wonder how it would on my moose, Xander?

    The leg fluff in the penultimate picture made me diiiieeeee. I have a serious weakness for leg fluff and he’s really flaunting it with that pose there.

    Brody is just too adorable!!! And good for Emmett, teaching him the right use for Old Man Johnson’s yard! 😉

    Love the stylin’ poop bag. That is still one of my favorite DrV stories. (http://www.pawcurious.com/2009/09/sometimes-the-solution-is-worse-than-the-problem/)

    Aww, what a sweet face he has. See? This is why puppies are so adorable, so we don’t get mad at ’em when they act like, well…puppies! And I’m glad Brodie is lovin’ Emmett’s old stomping grounds. (As an aside, poor kitty! The cat next door has taken to hanging out at the foot of the steps leading from my backyard deck, which just induces my dog to frenzy when she goes outside. The kitty always escapes – after I’ve hyperventilated at the thought of my dog catching her – and sits on the top of the six foot fence between our yards, taunting my dog for being sooooo slow and doglike).
