9. My first pet was a Lhasa Apso. I got her when I was 8 and she died my freshman year of vet school.

If you could change one thing about the world of veterinary medicine, what would it be?
That owners understood the commitment of owning a pet. Absolutely.
What are your thoughts around animals in research? I attended an HSUS conference this summer (and subsequently became a vegetarian), and of course that was a prevalent topic of discussion….
Oh, that’s a complex one. I will do that as a real blog post sometime.
What is your best memory of vet school?
Besides graduating? lol The time the ancient head of the hospital pulled me aside senior year to offer me an unsolicited letter of recommendation. Awesome.

What’s your favourite dish in the entire world?
caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella. To die for.
That sounds absolutely mouth-watering. Mine is a toss-up between sushi (I loves me my fish) and chicken and monterey jack chimichangas.

The smell of fish makes you gag? You definitely didn’t want to smell that d/d salmon then. While it’s mild, it’s definitely fishy. LOL
What is your favorite aspect of being a vet?
I know it sounds cheesy, but when someone says thank you and means it genuinely, it makes all the other stuff worth it.
Not cheesy at all… When I asked my vet that question a few months back, his answer was the same as yours.
